About

Built by engineers
who have been on the job.

Basesite was founded in 2018 in Maynooth, Ireland. We build FacilityConnect — one living model of a build’s mechanical and electrical utility backbone — and we build it from the inside, because the people writing it have run the problem it solves.

Why we exist

On a fab build, the information that decides what gets installed is not missing. It is sitting in spreadsheets — one per discipline, one per contractor, each a snapshot of a layout that has already moved on. Every team has a version. None of them agree. By the time the disagreement surfaces, equipment has been bought.

That is not a documentation problem, it is a modelling one. The utilities are a single connected network, and the industry was tracking them as disconnected lists. So we built the thing that was missing: a model that stays live while the build changes, that knows what connects to what, and that can be asked a question instead of being re-read.

Who builds it

The team is semiconductor fab design engineers, crossover design engineers, and developers. That mix is the point — we bridge the gap between software and engineering. A tool for sizing a distribution network cannot be written by people who have never sized one, and the industry has no shortage of powerful software wrapped around assumptions that do not survive contact with a real build.

Across the company that background spans semiconductor construction, software engineering, cybersecurity, customer success and enterprise delivery. Everyone here is expected to understand construction realities, not just the codebase.

Where we are

Basesite is headquartered in Maynooth, Ireland, and has had the support of the Local Enterprise Office and Enterprise Ireland since the early days. We work on fab programmes well beyond Ireland — the model does not care where the building is.

How we work with you

FacilityConnect is self-serve. Your engineers run the loop themselves: the app is fully functional out of the box, and there is no dependency on our engineers to keep it moving. Migration takes the two spreadsheets your team already maintains and turns them into the model.

That was a deliberate change. For a long time we did the structuring ourselves, because the inputs were not reliable enough to hand over — we have written about why that was the right call then, and why it no longer is.

Credentials

FacilityConnect holds the data that decides what gets bought and installed on a fab, so how we hold it is part of the product:

  • ISO 27001 — certified information security management.
  • SOC 2 — independently audited controls.
  • SEMI member — the industry association for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Silicon Saxony — active in Europe’s largest microelectronics cluster.

If you are building, we would like to hear about it.

Tell us what you are working on and we will show you the model running against it.
