PROBLEM STATEMENT

A manufacturing installation project had a need to generate over 2000 design package that contained many repeat dwgs.

Each package could contain up to 50 drawings. Each drawing needed to be updated to align with the equipment.

REVIEW

​Our business analysts reviewed the process and explored the available opportunities for automation using the BIM360 APIs. The drawing pack consisted of many DWGs that had already been uploaded to BIM360.

 

Rather than manually managing the packages creation, Basesite recommended developing a repository of all drawing associated with each pack. All future packages would reference an existing package And any modifications to the drawings Could easily be uploaded and combined with the reference content.

A web app connected to BIM360 was developed that automated up to 70% of the process.

Seamless drawing addition and removale

 

EMBEDDED VIEWER

The BIM 360 Viewer was added to the construction application. This provided a one-stop shop for reviewing project content.
